Alexey Ilin
Alexey Ilin was born in Moscow in 1973. After graduating from Moscow Architectural institute (Residential and Public building Faculty) in 1996 he started working in ABV Architectural bureau. During 7 years in this company he overseen the construction of 4 projects as a Chief Project Architect, including Ducat III Office building - the first BREEAM certificated building in Russia.
In 2004 Alexey and Sergey Tchoban founded their own bureau "Ilin Tchoban" and after 3 years he took up the position of Head of the 1st Architectural studio department at SPEECH bureau. From 2007 to 2019 he designed around 100 buildings and overseen the construction of around 15 buildings, including:
In 2015 the concept of the IFD "Capital" headquarter building was awarded by Archsovet as a Best Building Design 2015 and in 2018 the concept of Kuzminky district renovation took the 1st prize in an Renovation of Residential Quarters in Moscow International Competition. Alexey was also co-author of such iconic projects like Russian Pavilion on Expo Milan 2015 and Russian Pavilion on Expo Dubai 2020.
During the SPEECH years Alexey finished a couple of personal project, for instance, residential building AALTO and his own house in Moscow Region. In addition to architectural practice, he is engaged in social and educational activities:
2013-2014 – diploma course lecturer in MARCH Architecture School
2016 – "Open city" conference. "From the project to product" workshop curator
2018 - "Open city" conference. "Theatre stage" workshop curator
Also Alexey attended and was invited as a speaker at:
- MIPIM Cannes
- EXPOREAL Munich (exhibition center VDNH presentation)
- Russian Youth Architecture Biennale
- ArchMoscow (Mikrogorod «V lesu» discussion)
